The Garden School Tattler

Yesterday was a good day. We did some testing for class rank. It will continue today. It was a follow the direction, reading, writing and alphabetization project. We gave a list of the states, a map and a plain sheet of paper to the children and explained alphabetization and how it works, and told the children to find the names of the states on the list and copy them alphabetically, and for extra credit, they should write the first three letters on the map. We had some interesting results. Every single one of the children gave it his or her best effort. We were so proud.

Today more testing. We will do some puzzle pages and some math sheets and some word finds. This is tough for kids who should be just learning their letters. But the kids are loving it and that's what's important. We will have copies of their work at the end of the week to send home.

We tried shish-ka-bob yesterday with the new addition of mushrooms. Some liked it and some didn't. It was fun.

Lots of good things coming up!
