The infant princess, daughter of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, will attend Sem Barnehagen in Asker, a municipality about a 20-minute drive southwest of Oslo.

The first day at Sem will be a big event, with the press invited to photograph the debut, the Newspapers' News Bureau (ANB) reports.

The Palace has issued a strict request that the short photo session mark the end of media focus on the young princess for the day, and that she be allowed to play with the other children in peace.

Princess Alexandra will be two years old on Jan. 21.
