Candy Land

Candy Land is a game most of us grew up with. It's a family fun game and teaches children to take turns and to win and lose with good manners. I'm not sure what the new Candy Land has in store for kids, but I got this review from a distributer, so I thought I'd post this simply because it's a good game. Who knows, kids might just love it.

Keeping preschoolers up and active is the purpose of the CANDY LAND DVD Play Along.

The CANDY LAND DVD Play Along incorporates game activities for preschoolers, tips and classroom materials for teachers and take-home information for parents, all targeted at igniting an active, healthy lifestyle for kids at a young age.

Hasbro recognizes the need for young children to maintain an active lifestyle and a desire among parents to introduce more physical activity in their children's daily routines. CANDY LAND DVD delivers Milton Bradley fun blended with energizing activity that gets kids up and moving.

"Physical activity is an imperative part of a young child's life," said Jaci VanHeest, associate professor in the department of kinesiology, at the University of Connecticut.

"Games like the CANDY LAND DVD Game make activity fun and help children to establish healthy habits that last into older childhood and adulthood."

Hasbro's Milton Bradley division kicked off CANDY LAND Play Along program on Oct. 12, and invited teachers and preschoolers to walk, hop, and skip to the CANDY LAND DVD GAME. In this version of the classic, favorite characters like Mr. Mint, King Kandy and Gramma Nutt lead children in games that keep them laughing and moving. Educators will also receive accompanying CANDY LAND lesson plans, activity sheets and posters that provide information to further strengthen kids' hand-eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills and directional skills.

The CANDY LAND DVD Game is for children ages 4 to 6 and provides a fun way to be physically active while indoors.
