The Saint Theresa Ardent Heart Award
Presented to Vanessa Miller (left with her family) for Determined Christianity
St. Theresa grew up in Spain during the time when Christians fought Muslims. Theresa was a very devout child who with fiery determination desired martyrdom at the hands of the Moors. When she was grown, she entered a Carmelite monastery where her devotion was ordinary until at age 40, she resolved to devote her life to serious prayer, and she became a mystic. She wrote, "he who processes God lacks nothing; God alone suffices." St. Theresa wrote the "Way of Perfection" and "The Interior Castle," She died the night the Gregorian Calendar became the Julian Calendar.
The Saint Theresa "Ardent Heart Award," is presented to Vanessa for her feisty and determined Christian sense. Her colorful paint brush personality endears her to her teachers and her fellow classmates. All eyes are on her as her discoveries and experiments delight and amuse and teach those around him.
Vanessa shows remarkable personality and triumph over the ordinary skills and perceptions of childhood. She is generous, intelligent and talented. Congratulations.
