Alex

The Saint Paul Change of Heart Award

Presented to Alex Heath for Fortitude

Saint Paul, called Saul, was a Jew and hater of Christ. He lived in the first century. He was a tax collector who took great pride in persecuting Christians. One day on his way to Damascus, he was knocked off his horse, and Christ spoke to him asking, "Why do you persecute Me?" Frightened, Saul asked what Jesus wanted, and Jesus replied only, "You must go into the city and wait." Saul was struck blind. A man called Ananias came to him in the city, restoring Saul's sight and baptizing him with the name Paul. Paul went out into the world for the rest of his life proclaiming the great wonders of the God and Man he had hated and persecuted.

The Saint Paul "Change of Heart" Award is presented to Alex for his ability to adapt to new situations and find a delight, a grace and joy because he has taken a chance. Discovering the good in what he once thought suspect, Alex has renounced fear and discovered the power of the virtue of fortitude.

Alex demonstrates a willingness to overcome his own fears and forget his own desire in order to stretch into the world and discover something new and good. He shows a righteous fortitude beyond his young years. Congratulations.
