Friday, October 14, 2005

The Sandema Muslim Community has appealed to the Member of Parliament for the area, Mrs Agnes Chigabatia, to come to their aid by providing them with a day-care centre.

They made the appeal when Mr Chigabatia donated sugar, milk, and tea as her personal donation to the Muslims in her constituency for the Ramadan fasting.

Alhaji Ibrahim Adams, the Chairman of the Muslim Council of the area, said such a facility would help ease the pressure on women, since most of them would have their children catered for in school; while they attend to their businesses. She appealed to Muslims to use the fasting period to pray for peace for the development of the district and the nation as a whole.

She also urged them to live in peace and harmony, stressing that without peace no development can take place.
